I'm a storyteller at heart and a passionate believer that storytelling is the most powerful form of advocacy. The work of supporting disabled people to share their stories is what keeps me going.

So, I'm absolutely thrilled to be working with The Century Foundationhttps://www.linkedin.com/company/the-century-foundation/ and The Disability Economic Justice Collaborative as the editor of the new Voices of Disability Economic Justice Project-a commentary series showcasing first-person perspectives from disabled writers and advocates on the economic issues that matter most to them and uplifting the myriad ways in which the U.S. economy leaves disabled people behind.

Read more about it: https://lnkd.in/eRxuVfNW

The project launched today with three pieces, including reflections on:

  1. The positives and pitfalls of Supplemental Security Income: https://lnkd.in/eNVkmrbW
  2. Why disability rights are workers' rights: https://lnkd.in/ev7zhDyi
  3. How working remotely can be life-changing for disabled people: https://lnkd.in/e229rWcZ

Do you identify as disabled? Do you have a story to share? We're looking for op-ed style pieces and personal narratives that shine light on the economic disparities that disabled people experience. Payment for published pieces is $500. Check out the pitching guidelines and submit your idea: https://lnkd.in/eTPBW6jJ
