Dear Jake,

My apologies for the oversight--your point is well taken! I'll certainly keep this in mind in the future (and the study below pertains solely to the US).

With gratitude,
Christa

Hi folks,

Just a note about research calls in general: I'd like to suggest that Americans who are seeking research participants consider adding a note to their recruitment info to briefly specify whether eligibility is limited to people living in the U.S.

This is a common issue and not specific to this study (which looks great by the way), but it creates extra work for those outside the U.S. who need to follow up to ask this question, and the answer is usually sorry no it's limited to the U.S., which is absolutely fine as a criteria, except this could just be said up front in the posting. Helpful for those of us outside the U.S., but also good for Americans to practice this way of relating yes? Cheers, Jake

Invitation to Participate in Research:
Improving Disability Related Discussion in PreKindergarten-12 Classrooms

Hello! If you identify as having a disability and are age 18 or over, we hope that you will consider participating in our research survey, conducted by a team at Villanova University. The purposes of this survey are (1) to better understand the experiences of disabled individuals during their PreK-12 experiences as related to disability-related discussion, and (2) to learn from insights they have for teachers who would like to discuss disabilities in their PK-12 classrooms. Our perspective aligns with the social model of disability, and we believe that it is necessary for work about disability in K-12 schools to be informed by the perspectives of those who identify as disabled.

Here is a link to the survey: http://villanova.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0Va5kYZvS6KScXbhttps://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fvillanova.az1.qualtrics.com%2Fjfe%2Fform%2FSV_0Va5kYZvS6KScXb&data=05%7C01%7Cchrista.bialka%40villanova.edu%7Ca6bb506bf8074c853e3f08da637343bb%7C765a8de5cf9444f09cafae5bf8cfa366%7C0%7C0%7C637931645832146661%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=CYiSDy4XG6ZCPtlt8r8iw00njKbjPbbzZWFpSzrVjws%3D&reserved=0

The research team will conduct a drawing to award a total of five $25 Amazon gift cards. Odds of winning a gift card depend on the number of entries received. Study participation is not required for eligibility. If you are interested in entering the drawing, but do not wish to participate in the study, please contact the research team using the contact information specified above. Eligibility is limited to individuals aged 18 or over. We expect to complete data collection by the beginning of September, and we plan to conduct the drawing on September 29, 2022. Winners will be notified via email.
