Dear SDS members,
Our annual board elections have now opened. You can read statements from
nominees here https://disstudies.org/index.php/sds-board-electees/ and
vote here
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1CXbomYmne-6YVZXOk50aoyxix8kYuFuPJL4p6QZhucg/edit.
Please note that your vote needs to be cast by September 21st at 11:59 PM.
You need to use the same email address as your SDS registration in order to
have your vote count. Votes are rendered anonymous through Google Forms.
Please note that you will be voting for up to 4 candidates for the board
and an additional graduate student representative. Each of these roles is
for a 3-year term. There are spaces for write-in candidates for both roles,
but please ensure that any write-in candidate is willing to serve in the
role.
Results of the election will be announced to the membership on September
22nd.
We have several upcoming organizational changes, including a return to the
annual meeting, community and global advisory boards, and ongoing
programming for community members. We are also in the process of
transitioning to a new membership platform. Our new board members will be
crucial in determining the final form that each of these initiatives take,
so it is vital that we elect committed and responsive board members.
Thank you for your participation in the future of SDS!
