Post-Doctoral Fellow – Social Enterprise and Occupational Justice
The Queen's University Initiative for Social Enterprise & Disability is
seeking a post-doctoral fellow to take a leadership role in the delivery of
an innovative project positioning social enterprise as an employment
intervention for young adults living in social housing. The incumbent will
work collaboratively with social housing tenants and community partners to
craft the design for a social enterprise that is responsive to community
needs, working under the supervision and mentorship of recognized scholars
in the areas of social enterprise, community economic development,
homelessness, and disability.
Position Requirements: Doctoral degree in Business, Social Work,
Rehabilitation Science or a related discipline. Experience in
community-based participatory research methods is required. Previous
experience in working with young adults, ages 18 – 30 will be an asset, as
will knowledge of business management as it relates to non-profit or
charitable organizations.
Important Considerations: The candidate MUST meet Mitacs program
eligibility criteria for postdoctoral fellows. The applicant should be
within 5 years of their PhD date of graduation and must be legally entitled
to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
This position is full-time (30 hours/week) and may require some local
travel. The position is not remote and the successful candidate must be in
Kingston, ON for extended periods of time. Position approval is tentative
pending receipt of funding.
Remuneration: $45,000/annum + benefits. Position includes $8,000 in
designated research expenses; support of 3 master’s students
