Observational Parent-Child Interaction measures with young children: your
insights needed

Researchers at the University of Oxford are aiming to create a new measure
of parent-child interaction (PCI) that is neurodiversity-affirming. We are
looking for academic researchers with experience in using observational PCI
measures with young children (neurotypical or neurodivergent) to provide
insight into what works well and what doesn’t with regard to existing PCI
measures. As part of a series of workshops with parents and academics, we
are seeking the input of researchers who have previously used PCI measures
to provide insight into the features of different measures that may be more
or less helpful for use when considering neurodiverse families. Experience
in working with families where the child or parent is neurodivergent would
be a benefit, but is not a requirement of these workshops.

To be eligible to take part you must:

  • Be aged 18 or over and able to speak and understand English fluently.
  • Have experience in the use of observational PCI measures for children
aged under 6-years-old in a research capacity.
  • Be able to take part in an online workshop. The workshop will last
approximately 60 minutes and will be scheduled at a time to suit you between
    24th November and 8th December 2022.

To find out more and to sign up to take part, please contact Dr Victoria
Simcock at victoria.simcock@psy.ox.ac.uk
