Hi Devva,

Thank you for sharing. This is devastating news. Neil was a great figure and role model in the Bay Area disability community. He will be missed greatly.

Best,
Lateef

Dear Friends,

I just got this sad sad news that Neil has died.

I just wrote to him! He was very excited about a wonderful disability museum project we are visioning together and he wanted to work with me on the database design.  He said he was in the hospital but……………………….

He was a power force for our movement and was missing Judy Heumann, friends from childhood.

We must all send sweet thoughts to his wife Denise and son David.

If you are interested in the Museum project, email me. We are one more person into needing our work to honor and preserve theirs.

May his memory be a blessing!

Shalom,

Devva

Sharing this news from Clarissa that Neil Jacobsen passed away today as well. As some of you know, we recently reached out to him and his wife Denise about their interest in becoming more involved with CommunicationFIRST. Here's an article https://jweekly.com/2020/04/23/crip-camp-two-disability-rights-activists-and-their-summer-of-love/about Neil and Denise, who were featured in Crip Camp.
