Dear Colleagues,

We'd like to call your attention to the ongoing violation of disabled
people's safety and rights in South Korea. You can show your support for
the direct action protests that resumed in December 2021. Sending
transnational solidarity is timely and vital, so the South Korean
government does not use the international status quo as an excuse for
perpetuating injustice while refusing to comply with international human
rights laws that it ratified.

Please consider reading and signing your name to the Statement of
Solidarity.

The Statement with signatures will be sent to Solidarity against Disability
Discrimination (SADD) who will release it to South Korean media. In support
of SADD, National Solidarity groups including networks for migrant justice,
sexual minority rights, and feminist activists fundraised to print a full
page support https://equalityact.kr/sadd-ad/ statement on major
newspapers on Jan 20, 2023. We aim to send the Statement with transnational
scholars’ signatures on March 21 so that we can join the mounting efforts
for safe and accessible public transportation, deinstitutionalization, and
equity for all in South Korea.

Thanks for your attention and support.
